Thank you for using Usuals (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the App, our website, and related services (together, the “Services”).

We only collect the data needed to operate and improve the Services. The categories below align with Apple’s App Privacy labels.

Account information: name, email, password hash, username, profile photo (optional).
User content: videos, images, audio, project files, prompts, captions, “Looks” or style presets, feedback, and any metadata you attach.
Support communications: messages you send to support.
Data collected automatically
Device and app info: device model, OS version, App version, language, time zone, IP address, IDFV.
Usage data: interactions, feature usage, session length, referral source.
Diagnostics: crash logs, performance data, error traces.
Data from purchases
In‑App Purchases: processed by Apple. We receive purchase confirmations, product identifiers, and subscription status. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
Web purchases: if used, processed by our payment partner. We do not store full card numbers.
Data from device permissions
Photos and Files: to import or export media you select.
Camera: to record video or capture images you choose to create.
Microphone: to record voice‑overs.
Notifications: to send updates like renders done or subscription reminders.
Speech recognition: if you enable caption or transcription features.
We do not collect precise location, health data, or your contacts.
3. How we use data
Provide the Services: create and secure your account, render and edit media, sync projects, and operate core features.
Personalize and improve: remember your preferences, recommend templates, measure performance, and fix bugs.
Payments and subscriptions: manage entitlements, receipts, refunds, and fraud prevention.
Communications: send transactional emails and in‑app notifications. You can opt out of non‑essential messages.
Safety, security, and legal: prevent abuse, comply with law, enforce terms, and protect our rights.
4. Processing of AI inputs and outputs
To power AI features, we may process User content and prompts through our infrastructure and trusted processors, which can include cloud compute and AI model providers. Examples include video generation, image upscaling, captioning, style transfer, and speech‑to‑text.
We use content you select solely to provide the feature or to improve the App when you opt in to product improvement.
When improvement is enabled, we may retain small samples to improve models, prompts, or safety systems. You can turn this off in Settings. When off, we do not use your content to improve the product.
Providers are bound by contracts to process data under our instructions and to implement security.
5. Do we track you across apps and sites
No. We do not use your data for third‑party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
6. Sharing of data
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
Service providers that help us operate the Services. Typical categories: cloud hosting and storage, AI model and compute providers, analytics and crash reporting, payment processing, customer support, email delivery.
Affiliates when needed to provide the Services.
Law enforcement or regulators when legally required or to protect rights and safety.
Business transfers in case of merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Your information will remain protected and subject to this policy or a notice of changes.
We do not allow service providers to use your personal data for their own marketing.
7. Data retention
Account data: kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de‑identify your personal data within 30 days, unless we must retain it for legal obligations.
User content: kept until you delete the project or your account, or as needed to provide the Services. Deleted content is removed from active systems promptly and from backups on a rolling schedule.
Diagnostics and analytics: kept for up to 24 months, then aggregated or deleted.
8. Your choices and controls
Account deletion in‑app: you can delete your account from Settings. This permanently removes personal data from our production systems, subject to limited legal retention.
Opt‑out of product improvement: toggle off sharing of samples for product improvement in Settings.
Marketing communications: unsubscribe from links in emails.
Permissions: you can disable device permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
9. Apple App Privacy label summary
The following reflects how we classify data for Apple’s App Privacy labels. Actual labels in App Store Connect should match your final configuration.
Data Linked to You
Contact info: email. Purpose: account, customer support.
Identifiers: IDFV. Purpose: app functionality, fraud prevention.
User content: media you upload or create. Purpose: app functionality.
Usage data: interactions. Purpose: analytics and product improvement.
Diagnostics: crash and performance data. Purpose: app performance.
Data Not Linked to You
Aggregated analytics where linking is not needed.
Tracking
Not used. We do not link data with third parties for advertising or measurement across apps and sites.
10. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your personal data on these bases:
Contract: to provide the Services you request.
Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the Services. We balance these interests against your rights.
Consent: for optional features like product improvement or notifications, where required.
Legal obligations: to comply with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
11. International transfers
We may process and store data in countries outside your own. When we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses and supplement with technical and organizational measures.

We use industry‑standard safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect a security issue, contact security@usuals.ai.
13. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@usuals.ai. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

15. California notice
We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. We use service providers under contracts that limit their use of personal information.
Categories collected: identifiers, contact info, user content, usage data, diagnostics.
Purposes: app functionality, security, analytics, customer support, payments.
Sources: you, your device, Apple for IAP metadata, and our service providers.
Retention: as described in Section 7.
